I have just been thinking about all the stuff that I yet need to put in my bag for the trip. I came up with a list of about 15 things I needed before we leave. It will be a busy day tomorrow.
Also, for those who would like to see exactly where we are working, Maranatha gave us this link to the worksite location. For me it comes up on maps. Click the satellite button and zoom in. You will see the Adventist Church and the Davis Memorial Hospital on the same grounds where we will be working. If Google flies over while we are there, we will try to wave!!! We are getting close!
We are only about five days away from our departure for our trip to Guyana. While I have not pulled out my suitcase yet, I am giving it some thought! This afternoon I'll go down to get a few tools to throw in my bag, and tomorrow I'll go back and buy the things I forgot to buy today! As with all mission trips, it is been a real blessing to see the way that things come together so that our kids can have this experience in a culture that is far different from our own. I'm so looking forward to being Guyana, building the structure for the school, and seeing the great beauty in the surroundings of Guyana. But most of all, I'm looking forward to the camaraderie, the strengthening of friendships, the meeting new people who will soon become our friends, and the continuing reminder that for all people around the world, we are more the same than we are different. I know God will bless us and the people we meet in this exciting adventure called mission trip to Guyana.
